I recently started producing two videocasts. For those who wonder what the heck that might be: Videocasting is the process of filming and releasing a series of videos on the internet. – Just like TV without its limitations of time and format. Since early March I’m responsible for a series called »Selbstauslöser« at Germany’s renowned blog Spreeblick. »Selbstauslöser« means self-timer and it describes the whole concept pretty much. We’re sending tiny little cameras all over Germany to people with a passion for something, strange hobbies or obsessive tics. The candidates are filming themselves, sharing their expert knowledge with us, the viewers.
The second videocast I put together for Spreeblick is called »Popgun!«. It’s supposed to be a platform for current music, where the artists perform or talk about their latest songs and albums. The first three episodes feature the London based folk singer Joe Steer and his project called Broadcast 2000, the Swedish pop band Shout Out Louds and another London based artist, the electronic singer/ song writer Daniel Snaith also known as Caribou. Future episodes will include German Krautrock legend Michael Rother of Neu! and the Berlin band Petula.
